Invite an approver
Set up someone who can approve or reject your posts before they publish.
Where to invite
Go to Settings → Team Approvals (the third tab in the settings nav).
Steps
- Type the approver's email address in the invite form.
- Choose their scope:
- All clients (default) — they see every post you flag, including posts with no client tag.
- Specific clients only — they see posts only for the clients you pick. Useful for agency setups.
- Click Send invite.
- SocialCal generates a secure invite link and emails it to them. The link also appears in the form so you can copy and share it manually.
What happens on the approver's side
When they click the invite link:
- If they don't have a SocialCal account, they create one. No subscription required for approver-only accounts.
- If they already have an account, they sign in. The email they sign in with must match the email you invited.
- After signing in, the invite activates and they land on /approvals (their queue).
After they accept
You'll see them in the Approvers list on the same Settings page with:
- A status pill: Active, Invited (not accepted yet), or Revoked
- A scope chip: "All clients" or per-client chips
- A decision counter once they've decided on posts
Revoking access
Click Revoke on an approver row. They lose visibility into your posts immediately. Any post they're currently viewing gets denied on next refresh by RLS.
Re-inviting
If you've revoked someone and want to re-invite them, just submit the form again with the same email. The system recycles the existing record instead of erroring on duplicate.
Common gotchas
- Email must match exactly. If you invite
[email protected]and she signs in as[email protected], the accept will fail. - Subscription gating. Approver-only accounts don't need a SocialCal subscription. They can't access
/dashboard, but/approvalsworks for them. - Existing all-clients approvers can't be re-scoped per client without revoking and re-inviting. Editing scope in place isn't supported yet.
