YouTube has no native QR generator, so anyone printing a channel or video needs one. The harder part is URL format: YouTube has at least three ways to represent a channel (@handle, /c/customname, and the raw /channel/UC... format), plus direct video URLs and the /shorts/ prefix. This generator accepts all of them and builds a red-and-white QR with the YouTube glyph in the middle — or swap in your own brand mark.
Why YouTube users need a third-party QR generator
YouTube does not ship a built-in QR feature for channels or videos. The closest thing is the "Share" button on a video, which only produces a copyable URL. For anything printed — end cards, stickers, trade show booths — you need to build the QR yourself.
YouTube URL formats explained
YouTube has accumulated more URL variants than any other platform — three valid channel formats, separate paths for videos, Shorts, playlists, and live streams, plus the youtu.be short-link domain. All of them resolve correctly, but they do different things on scan. Here is what each one is actually for:

Tip — If you are between formats, the raw /channel/UCxxxxx URL is the safest long-term choice: it is the only one guaranteed to never change. The trade-off is that the URL is longer and encodes into a slightly denser QR.

Which YouTube URL format should I use?+
For channels, the modern format is https://www.youtube.com/@yourhandle — this is what YouTube shows publicly since the handle rollout. Older channels may still have /c/customname (legacy custom URLs) or /channel/UCxxxxx (the raw channel ID), and all three resolve to the same place. For videos, use the full watch URL. For Shorts, use the /shorts/ URL.
Can I put a QR code inside my video for end screens?+
Yes, this is one of the most common use cases. Export as SVG or a high-resolution PNG, drop it into your editor's end screen over a plain background, and leave it on screen for 10+ seconds so viewers have time to scan. Test the scan from your own TV or monitor before publishing — TV glare and compression can hurt scannability if the code is too small.
Does the QR open the YouTube app?+
On iOS and Android, YouTube URLs deep-link into the YouTube app if installed. Otherwise they open in the mobile browser, which still plays the video or shows the channel.
How big should the QR be on a TV end screen?+
Aim for at least 300×300 pixels at 1080p, or 450×450 at 4K. The reliable rule of thumb is "at least 10% of the shortest side of the video frame." A QR that is too small relative to the scan distance will not register, especially if viewers are 2–3 meters from their TV.
Can I embed my channel logo instead of the YouTube mark?+
Yes — toggle "Use my own logo" and upload a PNG or SVG. Keep the image roughly square and simple. A channel avatar or wordmark usually works. The QR uses a high error-correction level, so the center logo does not affect scan reliability unless it covers more than about a third of the code area.
Do these QR codes work for Shorts URLs?+
Yes. Paste the full Shorts URL (https://www.youtube.com/shorts/VIDEO_ID) into the URL field and the QR will deep-link straight to the Short.
