Platform Selection
The platform toolbar sits at the top of the page. Click on platform icons to select where to post. Connected platforms show in full color, disconnected ones are grayed out. Click a selected platform to open its settings popover.
Character Counts
Each platform has different limits:
- Twitter/X: 280 characters
- Bluesky: 300 characters
- Threads: 500 characters
- Facebook: 63,206 characters
- Instagram: 2,200 characters
- LinkedIn: 3,000 characters
The editor shows real-time character counts for your selected platforms.
Platform-Specific Content
Want different content for different platforms? Click Customize per platform below the editor to write unique versions for each platform while posting simultaneously.
Facebook Background Styles
If you select Facebook, keep the post in Feed format, and do not attach media, you can open the Background Style section in the Facebook settings popover and choose a colored background.
- Background styles are designed for short text-only posts
- For best results, keep the text to 130 characters or fewer
- If you add media or switch Facebook to Story or Reel, the background style option disappears
- You can choose from multiple preset backgrounds or leave the post as a plain Facebook feed post
- Decorative and gradient swatches in SocialCal are approximate previews. Facebook applies the final native background design when the post is published.
Adding Media
- Click Add Media below the editor, or drag and drop files onto the upload area
- You can also paste an image/video URL using From URL
- Supported formats: JPG, PNG, GIF, MP4, WebM
- Reorder media by dragging thumbnails
